Nínitakk welcomes you on a journey to explore our premium collection of Asian homeware, representing the rich heritage of China and the artistic traditions of Japan. Our exquisite pieces, including coffee and tea cups, dinner plates and bowls, chopsticks, and other kitchenware and dinnerware, bear the hallmark of centuries-old craftsmanship in stoneware and woodwork, embodying the essence of two distinctive Asian cultures.
Born and raised in China, I take immense pride in the thousand-year-old history of China's porcelain and ceramic making. But it does not hinder me from also deeply appreciating modern Japanese aesthetics and artisanship, especially how Japan reflects its Wabi-Sabi philosophy in everyday items.
At the heart of Wabi-Sabi is the appreciation of inherent imperfections, celebrating beauty in asymmetry, irregularity, and simplicity. Instead of seeking flawlessness, Wabi-Sabi embraces the patina of age, the roughness of textures, and the idiosyncrasies that make objects and experiences unique.
It is from this appreciation of the rawness of natural beauty, Nínitakk curates our home collection of things big and small. Showcasing the rich history and remarkable craftsmanship of both countries, these items play a significant role in cultural ceremonies but their value are most realized through daily use.
Nínitakk will continue expanding its home collection, bringing more quality and value products to Icelandic homes. Whether they are fine traditional tea sets or everyday coffee mugs, our products represent the elegance and unpretentiousness of Asian home culture.
Find your special piece and bring an element of Asian grace to your home.
